F.A.Q.
WHAT IS A PAR PROGRAM?
The Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program is a program which couples a psycho-educational course and private counselling. It is designed to help clients stop their violent, abusive and controlling behaviours towards their intimate partners. The Anger Managers' Domestic Violence Program in lieu of the PAR Program is based on The DULUTH Model of Domestic Violence.
WHY DO I HAVE TO TAKE A PAR PROGRAM?
You may either be interested in taking a Domestic Violence (PAR) Program for personal reasons, or you may have been asked to complete it by the courts, probation or The Children's Aid Society. Either way, a Domestic Violence Program in lieu of the PAR Program is designed to help you change your abusive, controlling and violent behaviours into healthy, responsible and non-violent behaviours. You and your family will experience many positive changes when you complete this program. These changes may include strengthened relationship, increased well-being, better moods, and even an increased self-esteem.
